Antique 'Mary & George' Commemorative Plate (1911)
This early, historical, porcelain plate commemorating 'The Coronation of King George V and Queen Mary' on the 22nd of June in 1911, was made by the 'William Lowe' potters, at the 'Sydney Works' in Stoke on Trent, England. It features two round portraits of the King and Queen with their crowns above, numerous flags, roses and thistles, decorated with an underglaze transfer, with hand painted details in various bright colours and highlighted with lovely gilt borders and trim. The plate is in great condition and measures 18cm in diameter and carries the early 'William Lowe' factory backstamp which was used between 1874 and 1912.
