Antique 'Meissen' Porcelain Bowl & Cover
This fabulous, small, very early 'Meissen' bowl and cover from the late 1800's, is beautifully encrusted with numerous hand-painted blue and lilac flowers, with green leaves and stems. Amongst the leaves and flowers on the lid, are two intricately hand painted colourful insects, with both bowl and lid having gilt banding on the edges and on the inside of the lid and bowl there's a large gilt floral motif. Several of the petals, leaves and stems have small chips or little pieces missing, but otherwise it's in good condition. The base of the bowl has the blue underglaze crossed swords 'Meissen' mark along with a small, impressed number '2'. The bowl and cover have a diameter of 8cm and it stands 5,5cm high.
