Antique original oil painting by French artist Gaston Gerard (1859-1915)

 Gaston Gerard was a French painter whose works have been sold at auctions with significant sales recorded at places like Christie's and Dorotheum.  Some of his paintings were signed "Gaston Gerard" and some were signed "G. Gerard" (eg Portrait of a Boy, Falaise a Veules-les-Roses and Mother with Child).  This particular one is signed "G. Gerard" - original oil on board of charming rural scene - condition commensurate with age with small scratches close to signature. Although frame is still in good condition, it is not one that does justice to the painting (was definitely reframed) and should preferably be replaced.  Measures 42.5cm x 31cm, painting itself being 38cm x 26cm.    Refer images
