Antique oval framed portrait, uniformed boy in convex glass - war portrait

Very old portrait of a young man/boy in some sort of military uniform.

The sketch shows a leather bandolier with pockets on it (presumably for bullets?)

Lovely original curved glass. South African history-buffs will enjoy this fellow.

Frame measures 63cm high by 48cm wide.

Collection in Cape Town always welcome.
