Antique oval metal and pewter hot water bottle/ foot warmer with brass lid

Antique oval metal & pewter hot water bottle/ foot warmer with brass lid. I would date this hot water bottle to the later 1800s. From research, they seem to be used extensively by soldiers to keep warm in the field at night - possibly Boer War or earlier. It is oval and has a screw in brass plug at the top for filling and emptying. The bottle measures 29cm x 19cm x 8cm. It is old and has some dings, but is in remarkable condition for its age. I have not cleaned it. Great buy for the collector.
