Ekkehard is a historical fiction novel written by Joseph Victor von Scheffel in 1855. It is set in the 10th century in the Swabian Alps and tells the story of a forbidden love between a South German duchess and her tutor.
The German School Association or the German School Association of South Mark actively supported the strengthening of Germans on the border and abroad. It was active primarily in Bohemia , Moravia , Austrian Silesia , Galicia and Bukovina , Lower Styria , Carniola and the coastal region . It was also active in South Tyrol and Italian Tyrol .
