Antique Red Cross Field Medical Trunk. This is a very old trunk probably Boer War or First World War.

THIS ITEM IS RE-LISTED DUE TO NON PAYMENT.

This basket has a wicker interior and canvass outer which is supported by genuine leather edges surrounding the framework.

It has two metal straps that goes around the box. These metal strips also forms the hinges and the locks.

At there are two metal chains which were used to attach the trunk to the back of a wagon.

It has thick twisted rope carry handles on each side of the trunk.

On the front it has a red cross on a round white background, with the words "FIELD" in black above it and "FRACTURE" at the bottom of it.

On each side it has the letters: "F. F. P" which stands for "Field Fracture Pannier".

On the inside of the lid it has a still original label varnished on, listing  the items that constituted the pannier contents.

Above this label is its original military marking as stamped on.

Its is in a excellent condition considering its age.
