Antique Royal Doulton Robert Allen (RA) Studio Cake Plate (c.1901-1910).
A magnificent example of early 20th-century English bone china, this serving plate was produced at the Royal Doulton Burslem factory and decorated in the prestigious Robert Allen (RA) Studio. It features a timeless neoclassical design that epitomizes the elegance of the Edwardian era.
Exquisite Cobalt Blue outer band framed by heavy beaded gold "pearl" borders. The inner rim is adorned with intricate hand-applied gold filigree and "drape" motifs. An "eared" or handled square serving plate, ideal for cakes, sandwiches, or as a centrepiece cabinet piece.
Includes the hand-painted studio code RA 4345 (and RA 6738), identifying it as a curated design from the studio of Robert Allen, one of Royal Doultons most celebrated decorators.
Authentication & Dating the Backstamp. Featuring the iconic Royal Doulton "Lion and Crown" mark in green. This piece was manufactured by Royal Doulton in England between 1909 and 1910. Made at the Burslem factory in Stoke-on-Trent, England. The specific backstamp featuring a crowned lion standing atop a circular band was introduced in 1902. The English Registry number shown (Rd No 542587) confirms the design was registered between 1909 and 1910. The "RA" mark stands for Robert Allen, a prominent designer for Royal Doulton who led their studio during this era. Pattern and Shape: The hand-painted numbers identify this as Shape 6738 and Pattern C4845, which typically features a cobalt blue band with gold gilt trim.

Visible Flaws: Excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The gold gilding remains remarkably bright and crisp with minimal surface wear.
