ANTIQUE SAR RAILWAY PARAFFIN LANTERN
Great condition, complete with original burner
It is not often that one finds these lanterns complete with their original burners!
Not sure of its age, but guessing around the 1940's or 1950's?
Made from galvanized steel, painted black.
This one is in great condition with no major dents or damage.
The oil/paraffin canister is also galvanized steel, the feed mechanism is brass with a porcelain tip.
The whole burner unit slides out on a tray to make filling and lighting easier.
The feed mechanism is in working condition, complete with the wick.
The red lens is intact, no cracks or chips.
"SAR/SAS" is stamped on one side and also appears on the original red lens.
The lantern measures 32cm tall excluding the handle.
The base measurements are 16cm x 17cm.
