Antique set of Taylor-Rolph Company Limited Billiard Bowls. This Victorian set of "The Royal Game of Billiard Bowls" would have been produced in around 1900. Produced by what was regarded as the top producer of bowling woods in England, the bowls are wood with what looks like ivory biases. The game is either played on a billiard table or cloth covered table, by releasing the bowls from the ramp, and thereafter, very similar to lawn bowls. The set is complete with eight bowls, a jack and a ramp. The set is in its original box. Everything is in very good condition for its age, although the ramp has broken off at one of the tips (should be repairable). Great antique game for the collector.
