Antique Silver 'Chinese Export' Miniature Tea Set (Wang Hing)
This very collectable, charming, scarce, solid silver 'Chinese Export' miniature tea set was made by the well-known silversmith 'Wang Hing', who traded out of Canton and Hong Kong between 1875 and 1925. It consists of a tiny teapot & lid, milk jug and sugar bowl, all finely crafted and beautifully decorated with lovely, raised bamboo detail. The base of the teapot is stamped with the 'WH' Chinese silver mark for 'Wang Hing & Co' and '90' referring to the quality of silver (above 90%), and a Chinese 'chopmark'. This wonderful miniature tea set is in excellent condition with a snug fitting lid. The teapot stands 30mm high (52mm from handle to spout) x 30mm, the sugar bowl stands 20mm high (37mm handle to handle) x 25mm, the milk jug stands 18mm high (30mm handle to spout) x 20mm and together they weigh 37,6g.
