ON AUCTION IS THIS ORNATE ANTIQUE SILVERPLATED JAM SPOON WITH A DECORATIVE ENGRAVED BOWL. IT HA AN 1878 BRITISH DIAMOND REGISTRATION MARK AT THE BACK OF THE HANDLE.
 
Spoons with similar shapes and ornate bowls were often intended for specific table services, such as jam, sugar, or specialty tea.
 
The selected region displays a British Diamond Registration Mark (or Lozenge mark), which was used by the UK Patent Office between 1842 and 1883 to certify design copyright.
