This very early, unusual, scarce, nickel plated, sprung loaded coin holder has five slots (three on one side and two on the other) that hold five different coin denominations: a sovereign, a half sovereign, three pence, six pence and one shilling. It is decorated with a lovely leaf or vine like pattern on both sides and has a loop or ring, so it could be attached to a fob chain or chatelaine. It is stamped on the sides with a maker's mark 'J.W.B.' in a shield 'MADE IN ENGLAND' and 'BEST NICKEL PLATED'. The case is working well with all springs intact and is in excellent condition except for minor wear to the plating. It measures 5cm x 4.2cm x 1.3cm and weighs 28.8g.
