Original , unrestored Liprosta of Dresden(1900 -1910) steamer trunk with Cape Government Railways(CGR) label and stenciled with Miss E. Dumbleton traced to Esmé Dumbleton (18851917), of the well-known Dumbleton family of Wilderness, Southern Cape, founders of Oakhurst farm between 1840-68 and the Fairy Knowe Hotel (1924).
This trunk in all probability travelled with Miss Esme on the then well developped CGR steamtrain network from Cape Town, Outshoorn, George and back.
Beautiful aged patina. Structurally solid. In a fair condition for 120 years old!
