An exceptional sterling silver picture frame with an original brown wood-backed easel stand, sans glass cover. Has a circular aperture and embossed body measuring 13 cm by 13 cm. Secured at the back with three silver caches.
A set of British silver hallmarks stamped in the front showing (left to right) the maker's insignia, followed by the assayer's mark of the Lion Passant, the town mark Chester, and the date letter "P" denoting 1915.
Silver border is embossed with a rhythmic pattern of interlaced lines combined with two engraved foliage ornaments. This border frame can be moved around wood back so that you can position the ornament as you like it.
Fully functional and in excellent condition. There's a tiny shallow dent measuring 2 mm in length and some minor wave-like fixable denting on the interior, but these are not apparent to the eye. Displays very well.
Please note that all dark patina stains that you see on photos are the result of natural silver oxidation and would benefit from polish. There's no permanent staining, as you will most certainly appreciate when examining this fine hand-made antique silver photo frame in person.
