Antique Sterling Silver Vesta Case
This lovely quality, antique, solid silver vesta case from the early 1900's has an attractive engine turned decoration on both sides with a round cartouche on the front, engraved with a family crest of a bird. It's square in shape with a slight curve, has a sprung hinged lid and is fitted with a loop on the side, where it would have been attached to a fob chain or a chatelaine. It is fully English hallmarked on the inside of the rim for Birmingham 1920 and has the makers stamp 'H.V.P &Co' for silversmiths 'H.V. Pithey & Co.'. The vesta case measures 4,7cm x 4,2cm, weighs 36.3g and other than a very small soft dent (hardly noticeable) on the lid, it's in excellent condition.
