Antique Stimpson wool bale trolley scale No.7176 - collection only

Antique rare Stimpson wool bale trolley scale No.7176 - collection only. This is a very rare item that you would be lucky enough to purchase once in a lifetime. Bought on auction, it came out of a shed on a farm in the Eastern Cape - farm fresh. I would estimate that this scale was produced c1900 in Detroit, USA. Wool bales would have been loaded onto the trolley/ scale, weighed and then pushed to the storage point. The top and handles of the trolley are made from wood; the frame, wheels and the scale is made from cast iron. The slide measure of the scale is made from brass. The scale/ trolley is large and heavy measuring 1.5m (l) x 57cm (w). It is in very good condition for its age, but dirty with surface rust. It should clean up beautifully, but I have not done anything to the scale as a buyer may want it to remain in its original condition. Great buy for display, use or would make a lovely coffee table.
