antique thumbpress quill cutter circa 1830-50

Made in Sheffield by J Novill & sons{signed}

Made from ebony and brass, other metal parts is either steel or silver.

There is a compartment with a tweezer or nibler hidden inside, sliding blade still works perfectly,

A quill cutter like this would have been made somewhere in the 1830s-50s

In a overall good condition, but not perfect, sold as is, please see photoghraphs
