Antique Silver-Plated Tureen Warmer & Cover

This very good quality, heavy gauge silver plated serving tureen or warmer was made in Sheffield England by James Dixon & Sons in the early 1900's. It has a double walled base and inlet, so that hot water could be added to the lower section, to keep the contents warm. The warmer and cover are very heavy and are probably plated on brass. The base has three divisions which are ideal for vegetables. It is in great condition with very minor wear. It measures 23cm in diameter, with a base depth of 4cm and together stands 14cm high (with handle) and weighs 1175g.
