Antique Brass Samovar - Primarily used for boiling water for tea, particularly in Russia and the Middle East.
In excellent condition, usual surface wear from age.
One wooden handle on the samovar has a crack in, not detracting from the functionality or aesthetics.
The central chimney would hold hot coals to heat the water. A teapot containing tea concentrate sits on the top to stay warm.
Hot water is dispensed from the spigot and mixed with the tea concentrate to individual preference.
Samovars have been used for centuries and associated with tea rituals and hospitality.
"Samovar" means "self-boiler", and designed for efficiency, boiling water faster than a regular pot.
