Antique Victorian Oil Lamp Circa 1870-1890 Ref.MA-13

This auction is for a superb and impressive antique Victorian Oil Lamp, dating around the 1870 - 1890 era.It boasts a white ribbed glass shade, which is supported by a reed fluted brass column over an ornately embossed brass base section which sits over a waisted socle base fashioned from black glazed china. It stands approximately 68 cm high to the top of the glass chimney, with the lampshade being 25cm in diameter.
The glass lamp shade, which I believe is original,as well as the chimney, are both in excellent condition with no cracks or chips.
The lamp is in very good condition for its age. It has been converted to electricity and has been recently rewired. The ceramic base shows no chips or cracks and the lamp stands firmly without wobbling at all.
Please note, I am NOT a qualified archaeologist/antiquarian and the description I have given is based on research of the subject.
