Description: Antique Victorian silver plated 'coin'Purse Ref. JW-14

Date: Estimated late Victorian, around the 1890's-1910 era.
History: A lovely example of a ladies finger / Chatelaine purse used to accessorise formal evening wear in Victorian times. When dancing with a gentleman, the ring would be worn on one finger. The purse would hold the ladies dance card rota.
Marks/Observations: The silver plate marks are to be found on the inside of the clasp.
Condition: Overall in good condition, the silver is worn in some places and the surface does show fine scratch marks. The clasp is still in good working condition as is the hinge. The purse opens to show three compartements, the lining appears to be made of blue taffeta and is in good condition with all stitching intact.Three small dents to the surface.
Dimensions: Approximately 11 cm wide x 8cm high and 3 cm thick.
