Up for auction is this Suss N. Budapest engineer/surveyor level number 2573, no date.

The item is auctioned as is. I am not an expert and know nothing about these instruments, except that it is very nice and would make a great display. All parts are intact as per the photographs. Optics are intact. When you look though the eyepiece a well defined crosshair is present. I do not know if it works or needs cleaning? Both optical adjustments are functioning. All bubble level vials are intact and filled. Unfortunately the original wooden carrying case is missing. The brass is still in its wonderful old patina and is rich in colour. There is a large bracket that is also brass and this would have been used to mount to the tripod (which is included) the instrument is 20 cm tall and 30 cm wide. The total weight is about 2 to 4 kg. The tripod measures 1. 40 meter. This instrument has been used long and hard, and saved by a few souls over the years who found historical interest in it.

The level and the tripod are offered and sold “as is”. THANKS FOR LOOKING. Will ensure that the item is sent in protective packaging so that it arrives in good condition. As with all my auctions this item may be returned at the buyer’s expense for a refund of the purchase price, provided it is retuned in the same condition as I sent it.
