Antique Silver-Plated Wine Ewer or Pitcher (Mappin & Webb)
This impressive, fine quality, silver-plated wine ewer or pitcher from the early 1900's, was made in England, by the 'Mappin & Webb' factory, who were well-known for their superior quality. It has the classical ewer form, a rounded body, with a hinged beak lid and stands on a short round base. The body and foot are beautifully decorated, with a chased and engraved leaf and scrollwork pattern. Other than some minor wear to the plating, this ewer is in super condition. The base is stamped with their factory trademark 'MAPPIN & WEBB' 'PRINCESS PLATE' 'LONDON & SHEFFIELD'. It stands 22cm high, with a spout to handle measurement of 16cm and it weighs 760g.
