Antique WWI-Era "Good Hope Lever" Trench Watch

Description: A fascinating piece of military-era horological history, this is an authentic World War I-period mechanical "trench watch". It features a white enamel/porcelain dial styled with bold black Arabic numeral hours, an outer minutes track, a prominent red "12", and a sub-seconds register at the 6 o'clock position. The dial is signed with a South African regional trade designation, "GOOD HOPE LEVER", alongside an anchor-in-shield emblem. It features an open-face style layout with a hinged case back that opens to reveal a Swiss-made manual-wind mechanical movement. The inside of the case back is marked with a circular eagle emblem stamped "NONPAREIL REGISTERED", along with "Warranted 10 Years - Swiss Made" and serial numbers 330-4900 and 951990. The case is uniquely fitted with thick wire lugs, a design hallmark used during the transition from pocket watches to the earliest wristwatches.

Condition: Pre-owned/antique project piece. The mechanical movement is currently not running. The minute hand is loose/detached. The enamel dial features a surface scratch across the upper section. The gold-filled or brass-toned case shows general surface wear, micro-scratches, and oxidization fitting its 100+ year age.
