A BEAUTIFUL ARABIA FINLAND TEASET COMPLETE WITH LARGELIDDED TEAPOT, LIDDED SUGAR BOWL, MILK PITCHER AND 6 CUPS AND SAUCERS. THEYWERE DESIGNED BY ANJA JAATINEN-WINQUESTIN THE 1960S PLEASE READ MORE ABOUTHER IN DESCRIPTION. ON PURE WHITE VITRO PORCELAIN CALLED ARCTICA. HANDDECORATED SET OF MODERNIST CERAMIC IN COLOURS OF COBALT BLUE, WHITE, BROWN ANDBLACK. THE ITEMS ARE IN GOOD USED CONDITION WITHOUT SCRATCHES OR CHIPS.

ARABIA FINLAND: Arabia isa Finnish ceramics company, founded in 1873 by Swedish company Rörstran. Arabiahas specialised in kitchenware and tableware. Arabia is Finland's most valuedbrand. The original Arabia porcelain factory was located in Toukola (Helsinki). Itlater housed the Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture. In 1947 Wärtsilä corporation provided financial aid, andby the end of next year the factory belonged to them. The Hackman Group boughtArabia in 1990. In 2000 the companies name changed to the Iittala Group. In2007, the Iittala Group is bought by the Fiskars Group, which was founded in1649. It is currently still owned by them. Ulla Procopé, Esteri Tomula and Kaj Franck are among the best-known artists anddesigners for the company. Esteri Tomula was a ceramic artist and designer whoworked at the Arabia ceramics factory in Helsinki, Finland from 1947 to 1984.Esteri Tomula is known for her decorative work often inspired by Finland'sflora.
ANJA JAATINEN-WINQUEST: Anja Jaatinen-Winquist (b 1934 ) started with ArabiaFinland in the late 1960s while the company was going through a rapid period ofchange and expansion, and she continued working at Arabia in the product designdepartment until 1974. She designed several tableware services for Arabiaincluding the M model Karelia with its iron oxide decoration, Saara (inproduction 1971-1976), and also Kalevala, and Paju (which came in both blue andyellow variations) Anja was also a very skilled wheel thrower and madeone-off items for the art departmentalthough these works are very hard to findnow.
