ON OFFER: Vintage  Archimedes drill (Circa 1900) This lightly used 270mm long D.R.G.M.(German quality/patent authority) approved unboxed tool, is in an excellent mechanical condition. It incorporates a bobbin sliding up and down a spiral shaft to bore a hole. Spiral-bit augers were precursors to modern drills, whose bits cleared the hole of chips as the user drilled. A steel hand drill with fine bit and sliding bobbin.
Some of the most beautiful Archimedean drills appear replete with brass, rosewood and even ivory. PLEASE NOTE: Payment by the winning bidder is expected within 24hrs. I only do Postnet to Postnet @R120. You are welcome to collect in CapeTown or arrange your own courier.
