Ardmore artist Jabu Nene porcelain bowl dated 2003

Offered for sale is a stylish hand made porcelain bowl by Ardmore artist Jabu Nene, this item signed and dated 2003 . This is a medium sized hand thrown porcelain bowl made from a buff /off white coloured clay. The exterior of the bowl is decorated with a top border of teal blue in a matt glaze and a bottom border in a gun metal/black glaze. The bowl has a decorative white band in the middle  which divides the two blocks of colour. This feature is hand carved into the body of the clay with raised rectangular lozenges high lighted in black in a repeat pattern. The top rim of the bowl and the foot are left unglazed in white to form an elegant contrast in the design. The interior is black. Jabu Nene was born in 1976 and worked at Ardmore in the early 2000s.
