It is legal to own and trade. Do not confuse this with the highly invasive Aristolochia elegans (Calico Flower), which is a prohibited Category 1b species in South Africa. Toxicity: Toxic if ingested by humans or pets. 

The plant on sale is 2 liter bag size, healthy and well rooted, ready to be transplanted in your garden or pot. It is not just a plug size.
