Generation 2 Night Vision has the ability to amplifiy ambient light by 15 000 - 20 000x compared to the 1000x provided by Gen 1 devices. This is a 20x improvement in low light sensitivity and consequently its effectiveness as an observation tool. If you are a hunter or farmer that operates out in the bush then Gen 2 is what you want.
