Art Deco Schoonhoven Gouda ceramic vase in the Corel pattern circa 1925

Offered for sale is a fine and highly collectible Dutch Art Deco vase made by the famous company Plateelbakkerij Schoonhoven  in the Gouda district of the Netherlands. This item dates to approximately 1925 and is an iconic example of the fine Art Deco designs produced by Schoonhoven in the 1920's/30's. This vase is in the Corel pattern which is a multi-coloured abstract design based on floral and plant motifs. The Corel and Aurelia patterns are avidly collected due to their high visual impact and aesthetic appeal. This is an earthenware twin handled vase hand painted in a vivid combination of colours including black, yellow ochre, cobalt blue,aquamarine, terracotta and custard yellow. The vase is marked on the base with the form/shape number, pattern name Corel, manufacturer Schoonhoven ,country of origin Holland, and the painters initial.
