Large at 40 cm high. 20 cm wide at base. Cut Glass Bowl at top with Heavy Silver Plate Rim is 21 cm wide. Bowl section is 10 cm high.
Excellent quality silver plate, looks to have been replated at some point in its life.
The bowl is marked WMF, then N ( pewter ( a tin alloy ) under the silver plate ) .. The O in the mark means that the silver plate is 1.5 times the normal thickness. The convex antler mark was taken from the Wurtemburg coat of arms by the WMF factory in Germany around 1900. Beautiful cut glass art nouveau flower motifs around side of bowl.
The ornate art nouveau base has a central stem with four applied swag-form stems. Very beautiful and typical of the art nouveau period.
At the top of the rim of the base are ornate cut out borders with art nouveau designs.
Would look amazing in the centre of your dining room with a flower display ( roses? ) in the central cut glass bowl.
