Dustjacket is clipped, creased and rubbed with two closed tears to bottom front edge and one each to top edge front and back, some frittering to head and tail of spine, now in loose protective plastic overwrap.

Ownership name to front pastedown and another to half-title page.

165 pages with over 250 photographs and illustrations. Internally clean and tightly bound.

This book includes illustrations taken from 137 sites in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) and South Africa and is thus a record of rock-paintings distributed over an area hundreds of miles in length. It provides a unique means of comparing artistic techniques covering a time scale of perhaps 3000 years.
