Arthur Elliott SIGNED Real Photograph of Kronendal Cape Dutch House, Hout Bay, Cape Town, c. 1905

This is an extremely rare signed real photograph taken and developed by Arthur Elliott, one of the most famous South African photographers, who specialized in Old Cape Dutch houses.

A beautiful and well composed photograph of Kronendal homestead in Hout Bay, Cape Town. Exquisite focus and detail including the tin roof, delapidated walls, washing on the line, and a carriage disappearing into the distance of the dust road right in front of the house. 

In the original solid oak frame.  Photograph is 44 cm x 34 cm, so large.

New mount. Solid oak frame in very good condition is the original from circa 1905 and is 50 cm x 62 cm. 

Provenance of this photograph is that it was last the personal property of Orson Toombs, the owner of Kronendal in the 1990s. He died recently and this was part of his estate. I also have a painted portrait and a photograph of the previous owner.
