A collection of the Oliver Asks For More series large ceramic Dickensware tankards by Arthur Wood & Son Ltd SPECIAL OFFER. Humor mugs featuring witty antique caricatures of celebrated Dickensian illustrator George Cruikshank and character comedy of Charles Dickens.
This collection comprises of three tankards / mugs:
1. David Dines With Micawber - The Arthur Wood Pottery Ceramic Tankard
Depicts a warm scene with skinny young David listening attentively to his friend and mentor, master of English rhetoric and an amusing voice of epic proportions Mr. Micawber, an idealized version of Dickens' own father, sitting next to the steaming roast beef.
2. Master Bates Explains a Point - The Arthur Wood Pottery Ceramic Tankard
Depicts Dickens' gallows humour featuring Charley Bates "explaining a professional technicality" while enacting a public hanging to Oliver who is shining the Dodger's boots.
3. Mary and the Fat Boy - The Arthur Wood Pottery Ceramic Tankard
Flaunts George Cruikshank's brilliant artwork satirizing carnivorous desire with a scene of a pretty maid and two gentlemen, young and old, ogling her at the dinner table.
Each oatmeal-coloured 1-pint beer tankard is decorated with detailed transfer prints featuring two different scenes on alternate sides: a Dickens' passage illustration and an Oliver Asks For More scene on the reverse. All mugs are gold trimmed and dipped in high-gloss glaze. Potter's marks on each: Stamped to base "Quality Arthur Wood Made in England" Arthur Wood underglaze backstamp in green ink, with a four digit pattern number 3752 in gold. Circa 1954 - 1959.
Measures: each mug is 12 cm tall, 9.5 cm across the base, 8.5 cm across the top, 12.5 cm wide with handle.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. Free from damage or hairline cracks. Superb age appropriate overall crazing and some rubbing to gold consistent with history.

Returns. I gladly accept returns in the unlikely event that you are not thrilled with your item. You get a full refund of the purchase price up until the end of day 7 of receiving your order. Simply return the item to me in its original condition, shown in photos. The cost of returning the item using a door-to-door courier service is buyer's responsibility. Delivery or postal charges are non-refundable.
Delivery. I will dispatch your item on the next day after a cleared payment has been credited to my account by Bobshop. Please allow 2 business days for the funds to roll over. The tracking number will be messaged to you on the day of dispatch.

Force Majeure. Although not a common case, over the lockdown period irregularities in delivery services can occasionally happen. In these circumstances I will appoint an alternative service provider to ensure that your parcel arrives safely on time. Any delays or irregularities in delivery that may occur would be relayed to you so that you are kept fully informed of the progress of your parcel.
