A COLLECTABLE VINTAGE CERAMIC TANKARD MANUFACTURED DIRECTLY AFTER 1954 BY ARTHUR WOOD, LONGPORT. THE ITEM IS DICKENS' SERIES WARE, WHICH DEPICTS THE WELL KNOWN "OLIVER ASKS FOR MORE" IMAGERY ON ONE SIDE AND THE "DAVID DINES WITH MICAWBER" ON THE OTHER. THE TANKARD IS ALSO DECORATED WITH PROMINENT GOLD TRIM ALON THE BASE, RIM AND HANDLE

ARTHUR WOOD & SON ACQUIRED CARLTON WARE IN 1967 WHICH WAS SOLD IN 1987 TO COUNTY POTTERIES. THE ARTHUR WOOD & SON COMPANY WENT INTO ADMINISTRATION IN 2003 AND WAS PURCHASED BY RAYWARE Ltd
