Artichoke seeds, Violet de Provence. This perennial is considered a delicacy and should be widely grown as a delicious show piece in any garden! Plant Artichoke seeds in seedling trays or grow bags, and plant out when young seedlings are well established. Space plants about 60 cm apart, and in rows about 1 meter wide. Will grow best in soil that is well draining and rich in organic matter. These do need regular watering, and good thick mulch will be of benefit. Plants grow to about 1 meter high.
