Le Parfum Dissection

Lebanon-born designer Elie Saab was 18 years old when he launched his fashion label in Beirut in 1982. Elie began sewing at age 9; later, as a gifted teenager, he would sell his creations to neighbourhood women.

In 1997, Italy recognised this self-taught designer's talent by offering him membership of Camera Nazionale della Moda, the very first non-Italian to be honoured thus. Paris was not slow either to wake up to this prodigy. In 2002, he shot to international fame when Hollywood star Halle Berry sashayed down the red carpet at the Oscars, wearing an Elie Saab gown in burgundy. Elie now has boutiques in Paris and London but Beirut remains his inspiration. Elie's client list reads like a who's who of the world's most gorgeous women, Beyoncé, Angelina Jolie, Aishwarya Rai, Rihanna, Emma Watson and Catherine Zeta-Jones, to name just a few!

Elie Saab Le Parfum
From haute couture to perfume was a natural progression; Elie Saab Le Parfum was launched in 2011.  Inspired by the designer's signature style, sophisticated and gossamer pretty, Francis Kurkdjian, the perfumer who created Le Parfum said, I felt I had to translate a brilliant femininity.  The fragrance had to convey the quality of light when the sun is almost gold or even white, and smell as though gold was glowing so brightly it was almost white!

Fragrance Notes
Elie Saab Le Parfum firmly belongs in the floral olfactory group. The perfume opens to the sweet, succulent notes of orange blossom. Within seconds, jasmine and aldehydes step in, with a soft hint of rose-honey. Patchouli adds a tangy note to the whole bouquet. Overall, the fragrance perfectly translates into the essence of Elie Saab's fashion sense, soft, shimmery, ethereal and intensely feminine. The perfume all but vanishes after five hours leaving behind a chaste hint of musk.

Who can wear Elie Saab Le Parfum? And when?
Elie Saab Le Parfum personifies the quintessential modern woman, bright, active, young-at-heart and confident in her femininity. The floral notes, never overwhelming, make it ideal for day use with casual wear but could work equally well, say, for a summer evening wedding.

Packaging and selling Elie Saab Le Parfum
The Eau de Parfum comes in 30 ml, 50 ml and 90 ml bottles containing peachy pale liquid. Complementary products in the range include Body Lotion, Deo Spray, Body Cream and Shower Cream.

Leggy Polish supermodel Anja Rubik bagged the video ad campaign for Elie Saab Le Parfum. In the video, Rubik stands out from the crowd as she wafts along darkened city streets, yards of peach- gold silk billowing around her in the wind hmmmm you can almost smell the orange blossom!
