The New M.A.C is Black
If you are hunting for an eerie makeup look to put together, you are in luck. The new Style Black collection from M.A.C will turn you into a Vampire Goth and give you the perfect sinister look. Spookiness aside, black is a great way to make that one-off bold statement – glamorous magnetism on your lips and nails with shadowy eyes that lure!
Here’s the review on the Style Black collection:
- Black lipsticks, mattenes and nail polishes come in predictable hues reasonably priced. Baby Goth Girl and Seriously Hip are recommended nail lacquer shades.
- Glimmerglass lip-gloss, one of the highlights of this collection, has three unbelievably sheer shades. Its jelly-like feel is quite different from its predecessors Cremesheen Glass and Dazzleglass and the best part of it is that it doesn’t feel gluey at all. The shiny gold-green hue effect of Bling Black is a must try.
- The Mineralize eye shadow is perhaps the most talked-about item in the collection. If you are a M.A.C fan you will know that the Mineralize range is not new. However the 4 new colours that make their debut in Style Black are impressive! Named Young Punk, Gilt by Association, Cinderfella and Blue Flame all of them have a black base with interesting pearl-finish tinges. Like all eye shadows, they are prone to some amount of fallout, so applying them wet works wonders by minimizing fall out and bringing out the colour!
- Unless you are heavily into eye makeup you can give the Grease Paintstick, Penultimate Liner (it’s not waterproof), the Eye Kohl and cream colour base a miss.
- The two skin care products are brilliant. While Volcanic Ash Exfoliator makes a much needed come back, the Volcanic Ash Thermal Mask is a great compliment. Both products are highly recommended if you love skin care products. Chances are, they will find a permanent place on your bath console.
Coming from M.A.C, this is quite a risky launch – how many would really use black makeup often? It’s perhaps why the products are mostly limited edition. That said, everyone will now want to own a black makeup item, and M.A.C is probably where they will go looking for it. With a bit of astute blending and matching, Style Black can be used in your every day makeup as well.
