(20 July 2018) Fans of Cat Stevens and Joan Jett & the Blackhearts are expected to flock to this online auction hosted on www.bobshop.co.za, and so are all serious music memorabilia collectors.
Cat Stevens, later Yusuf Islam, birth name Steven Demetre Georgiou, is a British singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. His musical style mixes folk, pop, rock, and Islamic influences. Several of Stevens’ songs and albums ranked high on both British and the USA chart lists.
The guitar is new and has never been played. Cat Stevens' autograph appears on the pick plate mounted to the guitar. The plate has also been inscribed with the word “peace”.
Joan Jett & the Blackhearts autographed Danelectro guitar is inscribed with this message: “To WMRR Rock This Sucker!” It is signed by Joan Jett, Thommy Price and Dougie Needles.
Joan Jett, born Joan Marie Larkin, is an American rock singer, songwriter, composer, musician, record producer and occasional actress. She is best known for her work as the frontwoman of her band, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts. The Blackhearts' version of the song "I Love Rock 'n Roll" was number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for seven weeks in 1982. Jett has been described as the Queen of Rock 'n' Roll and the Godmother of Punk. In 2015, she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Jett has been a feminist icon throughout her career.
The guitar is new and has not been played. This autographed item is extremely rare as Joan Jett no longer signs guitars.
