Selling my LG BD 550 Blu ray player

This is a Excellent item and works 100% and has warrenty at Game. about 5 Months old

The USB port plays everything!! only selling because I upgraded to a surround sound system

Great value for your money!

The LG BD550 Blu-Ray Player looks really good out of the box. It features a sleek crystal-edge design, and it is made to match perfectly with your other LG devices. The BD 550 Blu-ray player sports an ultra slim look and compact body allowing you to easily blend it with your existing home theater system.

The front panel is very simple with the disc tray on the left and control buttons on the right. There is also a USB port on the front that allows users to view images and play mp3s directly on the player.

Setting up the BD550 is very easy and in just a few minutes, you are good to go. All you have to do is connect the HDMI cable and turn it on. One thing that users love about the BD550 is that it boots up really fast.

As with other Blu-ray players, the BD550 allows you to connect to the internet, by connecting a LAN cable from your home broadband network to the LAN port at the back, and watch streaming videos from LG’s NetCast Entertainment Access. This allows instant access to Netflix, CinemaNow, Vudu, YouTube, and even Pandora. LG has also added new content partners like weather forecasts from AccuWeather and Picasa online photo service which allows you to share photo albums with friends and family.

As for its performance, the LG BD550 has excellent video quality that is comparable to other higher-priced Blu-ray players out in the market today. Blu-ray discs look superb and the colours and sharpness appear just as great as they do on more expensive players. Also, if you have a library full of DVD movies, the BD 550 will upscale it to 1080p for a near high definition viewing experience.

The LG BD550 is also capable of decoding all the high resolution audio codecs such as Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD Master audio. These audio codecs are supported with maximum 7.1 channels if you use HDMI connection for the audio output of the unit. It is also capable of handling high resolution audio signals up to 192kHz.

The LG BD550 is, however, far from complete. As a budget model, the BD550 lacks some features that would otherwise make it a sure winner. But for £300, you get more that what you are paying for.

All in all, if you are a beginner looking for a good Blu-ray player, you can’t go wrong with the LG BD550. It doesn’t have all the features that higher-priced models have, but it has enough features for it to hold its own.

This is the perfect machine for those who want to replace their DVD player and make the jump into Blu-Ray. It’s easy to use and probably has more features than most people would use.

In comparison to other Blu-Ray players on the market this looks underwhelming, but considering this as a budget player simply to play disks then for the price it’s perfect.
