Asian Porcelain Plate Hand Painted Transfer Ware D & J Company Singapore
This beautifully detailed round serving plate or platter is a wonderful example of Asian porcelain craftsmanship, likely dating to the late 1800s or early 1900s. Produced by D & J Company of Singapore, the design is known as the Singapore Pattern, which bears a strong resemblance to the popular Indian Tree and Chelsea Bird patterns of the era.
Crafted using a combination of transferware and hand-painted detailing, the design is intricate and vibrant, full of character and charm. The pattern features ornate florals and exotic birds, executed in rich, lively colors with gilded accents. The reverse of the plate bears the manufacturer's mark.
Size: Approx. 26cm diameter
Condition: Very good vintage condition. No cracks, hairlines, or chips. Minor wear to the gilding and some expected paint loss due to age.
An elegant decorative or functional piece that would make a fantastic addition to any collection of Asian porcelain or antique tableware.
While I strive to provide a precise description, please keep in mind that this is a vintage item, and there may be minor imperfections due to age or production that I might have overlooked or not mentioned. I do my best to note all flaws, marks, and deficiencies.
