Asterix & Obelix XXL for the PlayStation 2 is a 3D action-adventure and beat-'em-up game based on the classic French comic book series. The game blends combat with simple puzzles and platforming elements, presented in a colorful 3D style. 

Gameplay and Features

• Dual Protagonists: Players control both Asterix and Obelix, switching between them depending on the task at hand. Asterix is faster and can carry a special torch for specific puzzles, while Obelix is stronger and can push larger objects and smash iron crates.
• Combat: The core gameplay involves brawling against large numbers of Roman soldierssometimes more than 70 on screen at once. Combat mechanics allow players to stun enemies, grab them, and swing them around as a weapon to hit other nearby foes.
• Special Moves and Potions: A battle gauge fills during combat, allowing players to perform special combo moves. Asterix can also consume the iconic magic potion to become temporarily invincible, faster, and stronger, capable of defeating Romans in a single hit.
• Puzzles: Puzzles often involve using each character's unique abilities, such as carrying flaming torches or pushing heavy platforms, to progress through levels.
• Story and Setting: The narrative follows Asterix and Obelix as they return to find their village pillaged and their fellow Gauls missing, leading them on a mission across various Roman provinces to rescue their friends. The game features humorous animations and references to the original comics.
