Stunning avant-garde African wood carving.  The carver has used all the elements of a tree trunk, the outside bark and knots to create this unique piece of art. The face is beautifully carved in the inner core of the wood. The dimensions are fascinating in that the bundle on the head is enormous.  These carvings are becoming very collectible as rural life is being eroded and these skills are not passed down.
