KNIGHTIA EOCAENE FISH FOSSIL

Eocene period - 50 million year old specimen

100% authentic and natural fossil

Knightia was a small herring like fish that lived 50 million years ago during the Eocene period, in what is now an evaporated lake deposit in the south west of the state of Wyoming, USA.

This specimen was collected in the Green River Formation, 5 miles north of a town called Kemmerer in Wyoming USA.

The system that it was collected from is known as the F1-F2 fossil lake deposit.

Total size of plate - approximately 10.5cm x 5cm x 10mm thick

Size of fossil specimen - 8cm x 2cm.
