Ancient Explorer of the Devonian Seas

Size:  64mm x 54mm x 35mm Approximately
Weight:  91 gram
Over 400 million years ago, Earth's oceans were home to a vast array of bizarre and fascinating creatures. Among them was the Morocops Trilobite, a remarkable marine arthropod that once scuttled across the seafloor in search of food. This particular fossil, sourced from Issoumour, Morocco, is a breathtaking example of nature's ancient artistry.
With a segmented body, ribbed exoskeleton, and sophisticated compound eyes, trilobites were among the most advanced invertebrates of their time. Their ability to molt their shells as they grew helped them adapt to changing environments. Some trilobites even developed elaborate defensive spines, while others evolved into fast swimmers or burrowers.
Despite their evolutionary success, trilobites were eventually wiped out during the Permian mass extinction, a catastrophic event that eliminated 90% of marine species. However, their fossils remain perfectly preserved in Morocco's ancient seabeds, allowing us to admire these prehistoric marvels today!
