I bought this pump after much deliberation when the community midwives asked for their Ameda Lactaline personal pump back after I had borrowed it for several weeks following the birth of my daughter. I am a student midwife and so I know quite a lot about breastfeeding, and as a person I am fairly critical so it takes quite a lot to impress me. 

Pros: 
It's gentle and comfortable on your breast thanks to the petal shaped cushioned silicone insert that sits over the breast. 
Easy to assemble/ de-assemble and to sterilise. 
Can be used plugged into the mains, with the provided battery pack on the go, or manually. 
It remembers your pumping rhythm- you pump manually for a few seconds, press the button and it continues to pump in the way you've taught it. 
Comes with some replacement parts incase of breakage/ loss. 
Can be used with the entire Phillips Avent range of bottles. 
Yields good volumes of milk ( providing your breasts are producing the milk). 
Easy to see the volume you've expressed, and easy to store the milk in the bottle provided, or to transfer it into a milk storage freezer bag etc. 

 

This pump new goes for R1999.00

This pump is second hand, I used it for about 3 months, but not every day. I replaced the plug as it came with a U.K plug and I didnt have an adapter but it has no negative effect on the pump what so ever.. There are a few accessories that come with it too. The pump is clean, and in good working condition give or take a few signs of use, nothing ugly though.
