High digestible, this diet has been carefully researched and tested to provide the very best for your baby birds in the appropriate balanced ratios
Your chicks are continuing to grow at a very fast rate during this second phase of their lives, and to support this rapid growth, Avi Plus adds high levels of easily absorbed protein and fat in the form of palm oil to their Phase 2 diet
The digestive system of your chicks is also still very immature so added probiotics and prebiotics help to establish healthy gut flora, and all their ingredients are highly digestible
Added amino acids and fatty acids aid in the first stage of feather formation and provide a good base for future lustrous plumage
NB: It is not advisable to add any other product or foodstuffs to the food as this might interfere with the balanced nutrient absorption
REMEMBER
Temperature of the food should be between 40°C and 45°C.
Make sure the food doesn’t stay in the crop too long.
Feed 10 -12% of the chicks body weight.
Constant room temperatures are critical.
Newly hatched chicks have a poor immunity – 0-6 weeks is critical, avoid any challenges.
Hygiene is vital – sterilize equipment, wash and sanitize hands, wear clean protective clothing.
METHOD
Mix with cooled boiled water to a creamy consistency so that if flows off the spoon or passes through a syringe without difficulty
Feed at a temperature of 38 to 40 degrees Celsius as babies refuse food below this temperature
Feed as often as needed to prevent the crop being completely empty, except overnight, when the crop should be allowed to empty at least once
NB: Ensure that the crop is emptying overnight as failure to do so is often the first sign of crop infection. In this case, consult your veterinarian immediately.
