AVRO SHACKLETON SAAF 1722, a.k.a. 'Pelican 22', is the only remaining airworthy Shackleton MR3. The Shackleton is owned and operated by the South African Air Force Museum based at AFB Ysterplaat, and was one of eight operated by the South African Air Force from 1957 to 1984. Although it remains airworthy, it has sadly but understandably been grounded by the museum for safety and preservation reasons as well as a lack of qualified air and ground crew. Where possible, the engines are run-up once a month!

This museum quality model of PELICAN 22 offered for sale has been hand painted and carved from solid Mahogany to specification by Planearts in the Phillipines. Pelican 22 has been on display in my cabinet for a number of years, but I am now very reluctantly selling it together with others from my collection as a result of inevitable age related down-scaling. The model includes a stand.
