THIS AWESOME MODEL 1953 "BUNDESGRENSHUTZ" (WEST GERMAN FEDERAL BORDER GUARDS) HELMET, STYLE OF M35/40 WAS MADE BY LINNEMAN & SCHNETZER AND IS SHELL SIZE 64, WHICH IS INDICATED ON THE INSIDE OF THE HELMET WITH MARKINGS “LS: AND “64”. THERE SEEM TO BE TWO DERIVATIVES OF THIS HELMET, ONE WITH AIR VENTS (THEY HAVE THE SAME MARKINGS) AND ONE WITHOUT THE AIR VENTS. THE THREADED BOLT ON THE INSIDE DOME OF THE HELMET IS FOR THE ATTACHMENT OF THE LINER. THIS HELMET IS OFTEN CONFUSED FOR THE BUNDESWEHR. THERE ARE SOME WEAR AND TEAR SCUFFS, BIT THAT IS TO BE EXPECTED.
